God has made our relationship beautiful and exciting...adventurous and crazy...and has led us into His arms through several different experiences. We just finished almost a year with an organization, which assists youth transition from juvenile detention to their homes or independent living, as house parents outside of Philadelphia. We were foster parents to six Philly boys, ages 14 to 18...and yes, we were challenged more than we have ever been - daily.
We then journeyed to Gitarama (Muhanga District), Rwanda for four months to complete Emily's Master's program in International Development. We were far from home, taking up new challenges, but we trusted that God would heal and rejuvenate us through the beauty and people in Rwanda...and He did just that. Now we are at our next stop in this amazing journey. Arkansas (Wickes to be precise) is our new home, with Jon accepting the senior pastor position with Wickes Church of the Nazarene.
Through daily life, good times and bad, we hope to minister alongside our church family to share the love of God with our community.
God has shown us great favor, and we pray that we show the same to others to glorify Him.
We are newly-weds...but better yet, The Newlin Weds...and thanks for sharing our adventure with us!
